Gael
has lived in the City of Brampton since 1975. She was first elected to Council
as an Alderman for Ward 7 in 1988. In 1991 she successfully ran for Regional
Council and served the residents of Ward 7 & 11 until 2003, at which time
she was elected to serve the newly formed wards 7 & 8. Gael has identified
Safety, Health and Prosperity as her priorities and essential to preserving
the quality of life in Brampton. She dedicates her time as Councillor and citizen
to these issues.
Gael
believes that nothing is more important than the safety and security of your
family home and community. She has demonstrated this belief in her 20 years
of service to safety in Brampton. Serving since 1998 on the Peel Regional
Police Services Board Gael has brought the Gael is married to Larry Zacher and has two daughters Amie and Emily. As Regional Councillor, Gael’s commitment to the long term efficiency and effectiveness of regional government is reflected in the leadership role she has takes, serving on the following committees:

Gael played a leadership role as a board member of the William Osler Health Centre, Halton Peel District Health Council and Chinguacousy Health Services Board in encouraging the province to approve a new second hospital for Brampton at Dixie and Boivaird. At Regional Council, she works to protect the health and well being of all residents by serving on Health, Human Services, Housing and Homelessness Committees. |
